Transforming full body 3D scans into digital and non-digital products can almost always be automated. However, every situation is different. Therefore we create personalized workflows for your specific situation by selecting the right processing modules and configuring them appropriately.

Tapping Escape Holes

Automated tapping of escape holes through the baseplates and feet. This way the excess of printing material can escape from the inside of the figurine.

Relief

Flatten 3D models while keeping all the details. Useful for a wide range of products such as stamps, coins, smartphone covers, fridge magnets and many more.

Clutter Removal

Remove all components in the scans that are not connected to the main mesh. 3D scans are often not perfect and might contain floating artefacts that shouldn't be there. This module removes such components.

Floor Removal

Remove floor in scans. Not all 3D scanners automatically remove the floor that might be present in the scans. If that's the case for your scanner, this module can do the job.

Mesh Fixing

Makes topological improvements and corrections to the 3D scans as often required by 3D printers.

Mesh Hollowing

Hollows meshes resulting in a watertight shells instead of fully filled meshes.

Mesh Thickening

Expands thin components in the 3D model to make the 3D printable. Examples are loose ends of clothing or fingers in small figurines.

Mesh Cutting

Cuts away a specified part of a 3D scan. Ideal tool to give your customers only access to the head of the person in the scan, for example to be used in a computer game, without the need to give away the full scan data.

Texture Unwrapping

Scans stored in a color-per-vertex manner are converted into formats making use of texture coordinates and textures. This allows for decimating the mesh while keeping the same appearance. Applying color-corrections with standard image editing tools becomes also possible when a texture is available.

File Converters

Reads, converts and writes different input file formats such as PLY, OBJ and WRL.

Baseplate

Automatic integration of well-positioned and customizable baseplates. Baseplates are highly personalizable. Shape as well as color can be customized, so you're not limited to a white square or circle to stabalize your figurines. You can integrate a logo and even add custom text.

Color Corrections

Color corrections to make sure the print color matches the person's real colors. This also include gracefully reducing the number of vertices/faces and the generation of a texture atlas for color-per-vertex models.

Scan Scaler

Get your 3D scan in the right size with a single operation. Either specify the exact size (e.g. 20mm) or the scale (1:10).

Game Avatar

Integration within 3D games such as Fifa and GTA. We export a mesh containing the head and shoulders only and via Uraniom you can use the scan within several 3D games.

Body Measurements

Scanned persons strike the right pose and are wearing tight clothing? Receive body measurements for creating custom costumes, keeping statistics, etc. (expected second quarter of 2018)

Face and Skin Detection

Detecting faces and skin helps for selective smoothing (only non-face areas for example) and automatically reorienting / repositioning the 3D model.

Anamorphic Rendering

Creates anamorphic renders of body scans. By printing the result on a piece of paper and observing it from a given point of view, it creates the illusion that the model stands on top of the paper. Since this tool produces results very quickly and can be printed on the spot, it is a good way to give the end-user something tangible at events.
